What is CSforALL?
CSforALL, shorthand for “Computer Science for All,” is the central hub for the K-12 national computer science education movement. We are the community organizer of school districts, nonprofits, government agencies and corporations that share the goal of rigorous, inclusive and sustainable CS education in the U.S.
Who is CSforALL?
CSforALL is a non-profit organization that represents more than 500 members who are educators, content providers, funders and researchers who share a vision for all students in the U.S. to learn computer science.
What does CSforALL do?
We have three core strategies:
- Supporting Local Change — helping education systems at the local and regional level develop strategic plans to serve all students
- Increasing Rigor and Equity — building the knowledge base and connecting research to practice
- Growing the Movement — serving as a “front door” for newcomers and supporting a national network of all participants
Why is CSforALL Needed?
CSforALL provides leadership and guidance that helps the K-12 education community implement computer science initiatives, draw from best practices and connect with national organizations to expand access to all students in the U.S.
Each year, CSforALL hosts an annual summit to celebrate progress and motivate the community to make new commitments/goals to create opportunities for computer science education for the coming year. Below are the key statistics for 2018 from the October summit:

* Opportunities take the form of education programs, after school and summer programs, research efforts, learning aids, accessibility tools and more.
What is the CSforALL Accessibility Pledge?
CSforALL Accessibility pledge is a community commitment to ensure that CS education tools, programs, research and initiatives are fully inclusive of students with disabilities, and accessibility is considered during the development phase for new efforts. In 2018, 105 CSforALL member organizations signed this pledge.
Why is CSforALL considered an educational movement?
In the course of a very short period of time (about five years), computer science in the classroom went from a ‘nice to have’ to a ‘must have.’
“Computer science for all” is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to disrupt what students learn at scale by adding its first meaningful core subject since the beginning of formal public education in this country.
