At The Citadel, my research focuses on computational thinking, especially across STEM disciplines, teacher professional development, and how students learn Computer Science concepts. I also have an interest in evaluation of STEM and CS Education grants. As the Director of the STEM Center of Excellence, I hope to support the integration of Computer Science throughout STEM, in addition to supporting the CS pipeline in our area to help supply our growing Silicon Harbor. We are wrapping up a STEM+C grant to help middle and high school teachers integrate CT in their content areas and are working on a RPP to help elementary teachers integrate Making and CT. The Citadel is committed to advancing Computer Science education throughout South Carolina. We are working with the SC Department of Education to provide PD to teachers across the state.
