CSforALL is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of its site users and/or members. We do not sell users’ or members’ information to third parties for financial gain. Furthermore, we do not share users’ or members’ information with third parties, outside the scope set forth in the Privacy Policy, without receiving explicit permission.

When we say “we,” “us,” “our,” “CSforALL Consortium,” “Consortium,” or “CSforALL” we are referring to the New York City Foundation for Computer Science Education, the legal entity behind CSforALL.

Your Consent to this Privacy Policy:

By accessing, browsing, or otherwise using our sites located at (www.csforall.org, visionsquiz.csforall.org, https://www.summit.csforall.org/), the CSforALL newsletter, or participating as a CSforALL member, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the collection, use, and/or disclosure of your personal information as set forth in the privacy policy, please exit this site and do not request membership or participate as a member. “Personal Information” is any information that identifies you personally, either alone or in combination with other information available to us. Examples of Personal Information include your name, address, email address, telephone number, or age, username, passwords.

For Site Users:

We do not collect personal contact information when you visit our site, unless you voluntarily choose to provide such information.  Below is information about how we will handle any information we learn about you from your visit to our site (csforall.org).

Use of Links:

Throughout our site (csforall.org), we provide links to other servers. We are not responsible for and do not exercise control over the organizations/individuals, views, or accuracy of the information contained on other servers. Creating a text link from your website to our site does not require permission.

Site Visitor Tracking:

When you visit our site, we collect and store only the following:

  • Name of the domain which you access the internet
  • Date and time you access our site
  • Internet address of the website from which you linked to our site

The collected information is solely used to make the site more useful to our visitors by measuring the number of visitors and understanding which section of the site is most used by our visitors.

18 years old and under visitors:

We do not request or collect personal information from minors. We expect parents or their respective child caretaker to be responsible for the minor’s activities on our site.  If you learn that a minor child has provided us with personal information or used our site without your approval or consent, please let us know by completing our contact form.

Membership Request Form & CSforALL Newsletter:

If you complete the Membership Request form on our site or register for the CSforALL Newsletter, your personal information will only be used to contact you regarding CSforALL and/or your membership. If your CSforALL membership is approved, all required answers, as indicated with (*) (with the exception of personal contact information which is required but never shared) in the form, will be used to create your membership profile for our site. You must be 18 years or older to complete the membership request form.

Contact Form:

If you reach out to us using the Contact Form, you are voluntarily providing us with your contact information. We will only use your contact information to respond to your requests. If needed, we may forward your email to other colleague(s) who may be better able to assist you.

To confirm, we will never obtain your personal contact information unless you voluntarily provided such information in our Membership Request Form, Contact Form, and/or Newsletter.  Providing such information strictly voluntary.

CS Visions Quiz

On the CS Visions Quiz site (visionsquiz.csforall.org) we collect the zip, role, gender, age range, and quiz answers from those that take the quiz. These data are only used in aggregate analysis, and never tied to names or other personally identifiable information.

For CSforALL Members:

If you are an approved member of CSforALL, we will only use your information in regards to your membership or CSforALL related activities, as follows:

Membership/Data Request Form:

The information provided in the Membership form and any subsequent data request forms may be used to 1) contact you regarding your membership and/or to keep you updated on CSforALL activities, 2) create your membership profile and/or to highlight members’ impact on our site, or 3) analyze and share impact/reach data that could be used in reports to improve and expand the CSforALL mission. Except as might be required by law, any data provided by us to third parties evaluators or consultants will be for the sole purpose of accomplishing our mission and generating reports, otherwise confidentiality will be respected. Personal information will never be shared, unless explicitly permitted by the member.

Slack:

As a CSforALL member, you will have the option to join the CSforALL Slack group. Slack is a third party and joining the Slack group is optional. Feel free to review Slack’s privacy policy on Slack’s website.

Security:

We take commercially reasonable precautions and have implemented commercially reasonable technical measures intended to protect against the risks of unauthorized access to, erroneous disclosure of, and unlawful interception of Personal Information submitted via our Site or in connection with any membership activity. However, your email transmissions and/or other communications containing Personal Information may be unlawfully intercepted or accessed by third parties and/or the Website may be subject to hostile network attacks or administrative errors. We cannot and do not guarantee the security of any information transmitted over the Internet. For the avoidance of doubt, we expressly disclaim any representation or warranty, whether express or implied, with respect to ensuring, guaranteeing or otherwise offering any definitive promise of security in connection with your Personal Information.

Changes to our privacy policy:

We may change our privacy policy, as needed, from time to time. If so, we will post any changes on this page and will be indicated by changes to the “last updated” date at the top of the page. If you continue to use the site or remain a member after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy. If there are substantial changes or any drastic impact to your privacy, we will provide more prominent notice or seek your consent to the new policy.
