Vidcode is an award-winning creative coding software and curriculum for 3rd - 12th grade students. On Vidcode, students learn real programming languages as they upload videos, code effects, and share with their classmates. Vidcode is a great next step after visual block programming courses or as a first coding course for your students. With over 300 hours of creative coding coursework, Vidcode can be taught as a stand-alone text-based coding course or as a cross-disciplinary unit in other subject areas. Upper elementary schools commonly implement Vidcode as a cross-curricular coding unit within existing coursework. Middle and high schools implement our Creative Coding I, II & III courses as a semester or year-long CS offerings. Each course is 40 hours long and broken up into modular 10-hour units so it can be customized to the amount of classroom hours you need. The courses are K-12 CS pathway, NGSS and CSTA standards aligned with a full classroom in a box offering of resources including paired lesson plans, auto-grading and dashboards. Vidcode was co-founded by three female developers who met at a Hackathon. Each founder got into computer science from different backgrounds-including math, fine arts and design. They teamed up with a shared mission to build a rigorous and creative online coding platform that appeals as strong to girls as boys. Five years later and Vidcode is used in over 20,000 schools.
